Man dies following one vehicle crash

A 42-year-old man, who had not been named at the time of going to press, has died after his van tipped over on Lindsay Street, Kirriemuir.

Heavy rain weather warning

Police Scotland is urging drivers to take the utmost care on the roads as heavy rain, hailstones and thunderstorms are set to sweep across Tayside this afternoon and into the evening.

Taking part in the recent Maggies Monster Bike & Hike Challenge on the Great Glen Way were the Fit Four Fae Kirrie who completed the Silver Finish and raised �6,165 for the Maggies Centres.
Pictured at the start of the challenge are, from left, Susan Dyce, Gillian Ferguson, Jennifer Paton and Dianne Scott who started from Neptunes Staircase in Fort William and cycled the 31 miles to Fort Augustus. There the changed over from bike to boots took place and they then hiked 23 miles to Drumnadrochit. Monster is one of Maggies Centres flagship fund-raising events. 2013 was the events 10th year and in nine years it has raised over �4.8 million.
