MONTROSE-BASED theatre arts school, The Song Shop, has welcomed professional performer Llandyll Gove who is appearing in their pantomime “Sleeping Beauty”, which runs until Saturday in Montrose Town Hall.
A former Song Shop student and teacher, Llandyll is presently touring the country with the professional production of Grease, and recently covered the role of Roger on several occasions. A week’s break in his busy schedule before three weeks performing in Leicester, has allowed Llandyll to take the comedy role of the Valet in “Sleeping Beauty”.
He is given the opportunity to showcase his acting, singing and dancing skills. Along with the pantomime Dame, he provides much of the humour in the production.
Llandyll last appeared in a Song shop show in 2008 in “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers”.
Song Shop founder, Fraser McGlynn said: “We are delighted that Llandyll is able to take part in our production. The break in his schedule was too good an opportunity to miss. He worked hard through his training, and has been employed as a performer since he left college. He sets a wonderful example for younger performers.”
With a script written for a professional production, the pantomime is traditional in nature, with humour for adults and children. It has audience participation in abundance, and is peppered with songs old and new, to cater for a wide range of tastes. The wardrobe team have work tirelessly to create bright, original costumes for the army of performers.
Tickets are available from Henry Hogg’s Newsagents, High Street, Montrose or The Song Shop on 01674 673236.
