TSO’s autumn concert

TAYSIDE Symphony Orchestra’s autumn concert takes place this Saturday in the Reid Hall, Forfar, starting at 7.30 pm.

The concert sees an interesting collaboration between TSO, Angus Choral Society and the Cecilian Choir, Dundee.

The orchestra will perform Schubert’s “Rosamunde” Overture and the Symphony No. 3 (Eroica) by Beethoven and will accompany the choirs in Haydn’s “St Nicolas Mass” and an arrangement of the 23rd Psalm by Schubert.

TSO conductor Ron Walker said he hoped the combination of choral and symphonic music will appeal to their many supporters.

He added: “We have deliberately chosen a number of popular pieces guaranteed to dispel the cobwebs on a late summer’s evening.”

A bus is being run from Montrose/Brechin - contact John Stevenson (Montrose 830250). Tickets are on sale at The Toy Castle, Forfar, Hoggs, Montrose, TSO members and on the door. The concert begins at 7.30 pm (doors open 6.45 pm).
