THE SCOTTISH National Jazz Orchestra presents Miles Ahead and Birth of the Cool at the Caird Hall, Dundee on Thursday, February 21.
Miles Davis was one of the coolest figures in jazz and a constant innovator.
Together with Gil Evans, Miles created Birth of the Cool and Miles Ahead, two of the greatest jazz milestones of the 1940s/50s that shaped new movements in jazz and influences music even today.
Sardinian trumpet master, Paulo Fresu, joins the Scottish National Jazz Orchestra in paying tribute to Miles, bringing these two jazz gems to the live stage with direct emotion, quiet power and vivid orchestral colour.
Ticket details from the box office on 01382 434 940.
The concert begins at 7.30 p.m.
The music continues at the Caird Hall with the second sponsored Organathon run by The Friends of the Caird Hall Organ.

Stuart Muir, city organist, will start the event and players of all ages and experience have been invited to play throughout the day.
Refreshments are available and there will be the opportunity to sponsor individual players.
