BROUGHTY Ferry Amateur Operatic Society presents the Rodgers and Hammerstein’s smash hit “Oklahoma” at The Gardyne Theatre, Dundee from Wednesday, November 28 to Saturday, December 1.
It tells the tale of Lawrey, a headstrong farm girl who doesn’t want to fall willingly into the arms of the handsome cowboy, Curly.
In her attempts to avoid him she turns to the dark-hearted farmhand, Jud Fry.
This classic musical has an outstanding array of musical numbers such as “Oh, What a Beautiful Morning”, “The Surrey with the Fringe on Top”, “Kansas City” and “People Will Say We’re in Love”, to mention only a few.
This production brings together once again the successful partnership of Frances Irons as producer and Don Grieve as musical director.
Their recent successes of “My Fair Lady”, “Calamity Jane”, “Me and My Girl “ and, last year, “Hello Dolly”, proved highly popular with Gardyne Theatre audiences.
