One of the county’s most popular musical events will make a welcome return next year after a three-year absence.
The Glamis Prom will be held next summer at Glamis Castle, the first performance since the plug was pulled on the event in 2012.
Glamis Proms Ltd, in association with PDF Productions and Apex Acoustics, promise a spectacular evening of enchanting music featuring one of the country’s finest orchestras along with some of the music world’s most celebrated performers.
A spokeswoman for the event said: “Set against the romantic backdrop of Glamis Castle, music lovers can purchase gazebo pitches and will be permitted to bring their own picnics to enjoy some al fresco food and drink. “Concert-goers will be encouraged to attend in their finery and really ramp up the glamour and sense of occasion.”
The 2012 event was cancelled due to a difficult year for the castle and other economic factors but producer Peter Ferguson said the prom will be back even better than before.
He said: “We are delighted to bring this glamorous and exciting event back to Glamis. This year will be bigger and better than ever and we look forward to announcing our headline artist soon.”
