Members of the Arbroath Male Voice Choir are preparing for a return visit by Lesley Garrett, Britain’s most popular soprano.
She will take to the stage at the Webster Memorial Theatre, Arbroath on Thursday and Friday, March 20 and 21 for a fabulous and unforgettable evening of music and song to celebrate 80 years of the choir.
With over 40 men on stage this popular east of Scotland choir will bring audiences the power and passion of male voice singing with selections from the popular, classical and musical theatre repertoire under the direction of Sheena Guthrie.
Lesley Garrett CBE regularly appears in both opera and in concert, on television and CD. She performed with the Arbroath Male Voice Choir in two memorable concerts in March 2012
She has won both critical acclaim and the affection of many fans and music lovers.
Another big name to look out for at the Webster for the 2014 season is Nathan Carter, now the biggest name in Irish country music.
This young man, at the age of 23, has taken Ireland by storm and enjoys large crowds of full houses wherever he goes.
He is becoming a big favourite in Scotland and his Arbroath show gives an opportunity to hear some of his hits. Also in the show is Lisa Stanley, presenter on the ‘Phil Mack’ TV show and daughter of Ireland’s legendary Maisie McDaniels. The Nathan Carter Show runs on Friday, April 4 at 7.30 p.m.
The music continues on Saturday, April 5 with ‘Beyond the Barricade’.
