Declan at Angus Show

TOP Irish entertainer Declan Nerney and His Band will provide some musical entertainment at this year’s Angus Show.

They will perform in the main marquee on Friday, June 8 at the Haughmuir Showground. The show will run from 9.15 to 11.45 pm. Declan was born in the heart of Ireland in Drumlish Co Longford and at the early age of 16 it all began.

He was invited to step in along with local showband The Hi-Lo’s based in the Roscommon/Longford region, where he served his early musical apprenticeship. Later on he progressed to the Gene Stuart Band, and in later years to Brian Coll and the Buckaroos, when eventually he made the decision to start his own band in the late 1980s.

Declan has a unique falsetto singing voice and a great musical ability, which combine to create a unique Declan Nerney sound. With a new CD almost ready for completion and plans for a new DVD/video in the pipeline, Declan is very busy writing and recording suitable material. Tickets for the Brechin date, priced £14, are available from Joan on 01356 624430.
