THE COALTOWN Daisies and Gary Anderson will be the guests at the Montrose Folk Club in the Links Hotel, Montrose this Friday.
Local favourite Gary and Kirkcaldy duo The Coaltown Daisies have built up a big following in Montrose following their appearances at the Montrose Music Festival and their double bill gig at Montrose Folk Club two years ago.
On Friday they will be performing a special combined set which they have been rehearsing intensively over the past few months.
The Coaltown Daisies fuse together the musical stylings of established singer/songwriters Lynzy Moutter and Vivienne Bern. Their shared passion for acoustic music of all genres brought them together in a collaboration on their own original songs. Producing music with dual harmonies, intelligent lyrics and raw emotion, the Daisies enjoy nothing more than to perform in front of an attentive and engaged audience.
Gary Anderson is very well known on the Angus music circuit. He has played with various bands in Montrose and nearby since he was 16. These include playing bass and guitar in rock bands such as White Lies, and currently F’n’3Gs, through guitar and mandolin in country rock band, Jargon, to guitar, mandolin, bass, bouzouki and dobro with Celtic/acoustic Band, Heidrum. His solo performances showcase his eclectic style of playing and singing, mixing his own original material with a few folk, rock and country covers, all stripped down to great effect, using only his voice and a guitar. Doors open at 7.30 p.m. with The Coaltown Daisies and Gary Anderson on stage at 8 p.m.
