THE magnificent sound of the Arbroath Male Voice Choir will resonate round the Webster Memorial Theatre, Arbroath on Friday, April 8.
The choir goes from strength to strength under its new musical director, Sheena Guthrie, and this 77th annual concert should continue a long tradition of excellent entertainment.
Guests this year are the popular and multi-talented Gordron Cree and Cheryl Forbes, making a welcome return after being a huge hit at the choir’s 75th anniversary concert in 2009.
With his rich baritone voice, Gordon is well respected in many fields in music and the arts - as a singer in concert, theatre and cabaret; as piano soloist and accompanist; conductor and music arranger; character actor and after-dinner speaker.
His cabaret section of the programme is a guaranteed audience-pleaser, incorporating jokes, songs and funny anecdotes.
Also classically-trained, mezzo-soprano Cheryl has sung with many of the U.K.’s leading orchestras, including the London Symphony Orchestra and the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and she appears regularly at prestigious venues throughout the country.
