HOSPITALFIELD House in Arbroath has been nominated in the country’s national jazz awards.
The cream of Scotland’s jazz talent will compete for the Scottish Jazz Awards 2011 presented by the Scottish Jazz Federation and Jazz International.
Hospitalfield House has featured prominently in the award categories and will compete with three other jazz clubs for venue of the year.
Alan Steadman has been nominated as promoted of the year and the Hospitalfield Suite, which was commissioned by Mr Steadman to celebrate the venue’s 20th birthday, has also been included in the best jazz project.
Jazz events at Hospitalfield House began 20 years ago and the monthly jazz nights are always in high demand with capacity crowds and quality acts from America, Europe and the UK topping the bill.
The final of the Scottish Jazz Awards will be held in Glasgow on June 28.
