There will be a big helping of war time nostalgia at the Webster Memorial Theatre this month with the popular ‘We’ll Meet Again’ tour.

Keeping the memory alive is Duggie Chapman, MBE, who is bringing a brand new wartime cavalcade show to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II on Tuesday, March 24.

Starring comedy entertainer Steve Barclay who brings impressions of wartime comedians and, by special demand, the show sees the return of Britain’s greatest virtuoso of the ukulele, Andy Eastwood.

This year, ‘We’ll Meet Again’ presents a new West End singing star - Maggie O’Hara - who will be bringing the songs of Vera Lynn and Gracie Fields along with a touch of Ann Shelton in celebration of wartime entertainment at its finest.

With full supporting cast including Mervyn Francis, former singer from the ‘Black and White Minstrel Show’ and special guest comedian and multi-instrumentalist, Pete Lindup, this show is packed with real variety.

The Martyn St James Band provides the live music making this a matinee show not to be missed.

It is a fitting tribute to our Armed Forces of yesterday, today and tomorrow featuring all the great songs and music of the war years.

This is damp-eyed nostalgia that leaves everyone with a warm and sentimental glow.

The music continues at the Wesbter Memorial Theatre on Saturday, March 28 with ‘The Life & Music of Jim Reeves’, starring Al Grant.

Al Grant presents a unique insight into the life and music of the legendary singer Jim Reeves with a wonderful concert of his classic hit songs.

With narration of Jim’s life together with video screen footage, this will be a unique evening of songs and story.

Renowned for his classic interpretation of Jim Reeves songs with unerring similarity to the voice of the ‘Great Man’, this promises to be one of the concerts of the year.

Al is backed by a band which includes some of Ireland’s finest musicians.

Al will perform all of Jim Reeves classic hit songs including: ‘I Love You Because’, ‘Adios Amigo’, ‘Distant Drums’, ‘Danny Boy’, ‘I Won’t Forget You’, ‘It Hurts So Much’, ‘Moonlight & Roses’ and, of course, ‘Welcome To My World’.
