Featuring the internationally acclaimed Ukrainian National Opera of Kharkiv, handpicked soloists, a highly-praised chorus and full orchestra, Puccini’s Madame Butterfly is coming to Dundee on Sunday, April 15.
The show will also star the American-Korean Rosa Lee Thomas and the Korean soprana Elena Dee.
Ellen Kent’s award-winning opera returns, with exquisite sets, such as the stunning Japanese garden and spectacular costumes including antique wedding kimonos from Japan.
Puccini’s Madama Butterfly tells the heart-breaking story of the beautiful young Japanese girl who falls in love with an American naval lieutenant - with dramatic results.
Highlights include the melodic ‘Humming Chorus’, the moving aria ‘One Fine Day’ and the unforgettable ‘Love Duet’.
This production will be sung in Italian with English surtitles.
