Exciting re-enactments

The Black Watch Castle & Museum will run two exciting re-enactment events on Saturday.

The events taking place are part of the nation-wide Festival of Museums, which takes place over this weekend.

It is a festival to celebrate Scotland’s wealth of culture and offer great, entertaining days out.

Festival of Museums is run by Museums Galleries Scotland and is a key cultural event on the European arts calendar.

The events at Balhousie Castle are as follows:- Battles of The Black Watch with shows at 11 am, 1 pm and 3 pm.

See the battles of the famous Black Watch Regiment brought to life by re-enactors Veritas Vincit. Witness sword fights and watch antique muskets fired.

Experience life in a 18th Century army camp and learn about a day in the life of a Black Watch soldier.

Life in the Trenches with shows at 12 noon and 2 pm.

Two historical re-enactors will take on the characters of a First World War soldier and nurse.

The event will include two very different performances, one the life of a private of the Eastern Front and the other the life of an officer on the Western Front.
