FOLLOWING his highly acclaimed, Sony Award-winning and Writers Guild Award-winning Radio 4 comedy show, Mark Steel’s In Town, and the publication of a book of the same title, writer and stand-up comedian Mark Steel is back on the road.
He is at the Gardyne Theatre, Dundee on Friday, October 5 at 7.30 pm.
Bringing an element of Mark Steel’s In Town to each live performance means Mark will write material shedding light on the quirkiness and interesting aspects of every town and city he visits, allowing each show to be unique - something local audiences up and down the country will devour and enjoy. Mark is committed to performing a routine about the history of every town he’s performed in.
As well as Mark Steel’s In Town, Mark has presented the BAFTA nominated Mark Steel Lectures for BBC2, is a regular on BBC One’s Have I Got News For You and Radio 4’s News Quiz and has written several acclaimed books, including Reasons to Be Cheerful and What’s Going On; he also writes a weekly column for The Independent. The entertainment continues at the Gardyne on Sunday, October 7 with Scottish songwriter Rab Noakes. A phenomenal force in Scottish music, his shows are a blend of his own songs, his interpretations of those artists who have inspired him and a look into his life in music. Like all great songwriters, Rab is a superb storyteller, but as a guitarist he’s a mean fingerpicker and he can make any theatre feel like being entertained in your own home.
