Patients, staff and visitors at Whitehills Health & Community Care Centre in Forfar can enjoy a new art exhibition showcasing the works of Friockheim artist Bob Stevens, who specialises in watercolours.

Running throughout December and January, the exhibition features framed examples of Bob’s work including his favourite subjects of flowers from his garden and old fishing boats.

Bob, who is retired, began painting in watercolours about 16 years ago gaining experience as part of the Colliston Art Society.

Bob said: “Apart from an ‘O Level’ in art from 1958 and a couple of art modules from Angus College in Arbroath, I have no other art-related qualifications, but I love painting.

“I have had some success exhibiting my work and I donate the profit from all sales to local medical charities to help those in our community who are less fortunate with their health than me.”

Exhibitions at the Whitehills Health and Community Care Centre are changed every eight weeks and the majority of the artworks are for sale, with each artist donating 20 per cent commission on all sales to the Whitehills Arts & Environment Fund.

All money raised is used to enhance the Whitehills environment.

Situated in the main corridor, the gallery has provided space for many local artists to show their work and the public are invited to pop in and view this new exhibition.
