OATHLAW Pottery and Gallery, on the outskirts of Forfar, is currently hosting its 13th Christmas exhibition entitled Preludio.
The gallery has once again assembled a wonderful array of work from some of Scotland’s best contemporary artists. All work is for sale.
There is a superb selection of ceramics, pottery, paintings, printmaking, glass, textiles and jewellery, from over 30 artists, some well known to gallery visitors to Oathlaw and others showing for the first time.
New this year are gloriously rich paintings from Sandra Dickie, based in Edinburgh, and sumptious quilting from Ayrshire based Rosalie Furlong. Well-known Forfar artist John Johnstone is showing etchings and paintings, all with his own individual view of life.
Gallery owners Ian & Maggie Kinnear, themselves ceramic artists, revel in the variety of ways that clay can be used and have again assembled a diverse group who use a huge variety of techniques in their work.
Ian is showing paintings in acrylic and watercolour evoking the atmosphere found on visits to Italy and places closer to home.
The exhibition runs until Saturday, December 17 and is open Tuesdays to Saturdays, 10am – 5pm.
