AN exhibition of work by the highly respected Arbroath artist William Littlejohn opens this Saturday at the Kinblethmont Gallery, by Arbroath and runs until Sunday, March 25.
Born in Arbroath in 1929, he studied at Dundee College of Art and taught at Arbroath High School before going to Aberdeen as a lecturer, at Grays retiring in 1991 as Principal of the School of Painting. He was elected as a member of the Royal Scottish Academy in 1973, the Royal Glasgow Institute in 1989 and the Royal Scottish Society of Painters in Watercolour in 1990. On his death he bequeathed the entire contents of his studio to the Royal Scottish Academy. The exhibition runs until March 25.
