Brechin is set to be the host to hundreds of bikers as the town revs up for the fourth ‘Harley Davidson in the City’ event.
The event, organised by BRAVO Brechin, always proves popular with hundreds of visitors descending on the town with their motorcycles to take part in the ride out.
As with previous years, the ride out will start at 12 noon from Brechin Castle, before travelling partway through the town before going through Edzell, towards Forfar and back to Brechin via Aberlemno.
The bikers are expected to arrive back in the town at approximately 1.30 - 1.45 pm, where they will park up in Panmure Street.
The Ballroom Gitz will be making a welcome return to the event to perform, once again, in The Swan car park at 1 pm.
A number of trade and catering stands will be in place along Clerk Street.
Brechin Crafters Market will be in the City Hall, where the Cathedral Hospitality Team will also serve Coffee/Tea and biscuits from 10 am to 12 noon and then soup with crusty bread followed by cracker and cheese from 12 to 2pm.
The link between Angus and the Harley Davidson Motorcycle company dates back to the 1800s.
Sandy Davidson, a blacksmith’s wright, and his wife Margaret lived at Netherton Cottage in Aberlemno before emigrating to America in the 1850s.
Three of their grandchildren, Arthur, William and Walter, along with William Harley, became the founding members of the Harley Davidson Motor Cycle Company.
The first event was held in July 2012, and has continued to grow ever since. The ride-out from Brechin Castle first took place at the 2013 event, and has proved a popular draw for Harley enthusiasts.
