Local musical talent will be to the fore this weekend when Kirriemuir’s free annual music festival returns.
Live in the Den will take place this Saturday, beginning at noon, when there will be a full day of free live music as well as stalls, bouncy castle and barbecue.
A fantastic selection of local bands will take centre stage in Kirrie Den, kicking off with some music from the talented youngsters who help run the local DD8 Music project.
Also playing on the day are young up-and-coming bands Quiet no Longer and The Blend, as well as established local favourites Restless Natives and Headroom.Organisers DD8 Music have also arranged for the tunes of New Zealand DJ Forge, who moved to the area recently, between sets to keep the crowd going.
The event is made possible by DD8 Music’s fund-raising activities throughout the year, including money made at the annual Bonfest. The group is always looking for new volunteers, and will have a stall on the day if anyone is interested in helping out with events and activities. Visitors from outwith Kirriemuir are encouraged to park at the public car park on Bellies Brae, as the one opposite the Den on Tannage Brae is likely to be very busy.
