There was a great turn out of Forfar Road Runners to support Sunday’s charity 10k race at Laura’s Big Fun Event at Murton Wildlife Trust, near Forfar.
Eleven club members took on the scenic but demanding five lap off-road course, which came in just short of seven miles, with a number of other members and family helping out behind the scenes.
Forfar RR’s in-form Craig Stewart led for the first two laps before clubmate Brian Bonnyman took the lead and held it to the end, finishing in a time of 41 minutes and 25 seconds. Craig took second place in 42:56 with Stewart Irving finishing third in 50.01 followed closely by Ion Cromar (50.56).
The women’s field was also dominated by Forfar RR, with adventure racer Donna Pass finishing first female in 56.15 just ahead of race organiser Pam Horn, who clocked an impressive 56.47. Other Forfar RR finishers were as follows: Neil Ironside (51.54), Billy Douglas (59.47), David Webster (60.57), Beverly Smeaton (64.03) and Heather Anderson.
