Eight teams from the Kirriemuir cluster schools participated in a basketball festival last Thursday.

The teams, made up of primary six and seven pupils, competed for the chance to go forward to represent the cluster at the Angus Final.

The matches, run using Pasarrelle basketball rules, were of a high standard with Southmuir and Newtyle coming out on top at the end of the festival.

They will play in the Angus final on Wednesday, March 9 at Forfar Lochside Leisure Centre.

The event was organised by Angus Council Sports Development Team in partnership with Active Schools and BasketballScotland.
