Silver for Greg

FORFAR curler Greg Drummond came so very close to being crowned a world champion in Canada at the weekend.

Representing Scotland at the World Curling Championship, Greg was part of the Tom Brewster rink, which also included Scott Andrews and Michael Goodfellow, who battled their way through to the final.

Alas, seeking to avenge two earlier defeats by their Canadian hosts and hot favourites for gold, Scotland lost out by a single shot in a competitive final, going down by six shots to five at Regina, Saskatchewan.

However, Greg and his team return with silver medals – no mean achievement after a week of top class curling against the cream of the sport from around the world.
