THE annual Forfar Academy staff v pupils’ golf match took place recently at Forfar Golf Club.
In wet and windy conditions 14 staff and 14 pupils set out to try to win their match in order to win the coveted trophy for their respective team.
The pupils have the upper hand due to all of them being members at the club and knowing the course inside out.
The staff, on the other hand, are playing an unfamiliar course and are at a disadvantage straight away. That’s their excuse anyway and they’re sticking with it.
The rain didn’t come on too heavy, much to everyone’s delight, and, after some excellent golf and light-hearted banter amongst the teams, the pupils came out on top with a convincing five and a half point to one and a half point victory.
A big thank you must go to Forfar Club for allowing the two teams the use of the course and to the kitchen staff for a great meal to warm everyone up after the round.
Staff will need some practice to try and regain the trophy next year.
