Strathmore Rugby Club is holding an open evening on Wednesday, June 29 at 6.30 pm to bolster their under 16 and under 18 squads for next season.
The club is encouraging anyone from this age group who is interested in playing rugby to attend this informal session.
The focus will be on basic rugby skills, some challenge games of “touch” (non-contact rugby) and lots of other top class training.
The evening will be led by Scottish Rugby’s current National U-17 coach, Colin Robertson, who is keen to see players of all experience from the local area to join in the activities.
Colin said: “Strathmore is a rapidly growing club and a key area for the next two years is the development of U-18 rugby in particular, where there will be a focus on encouraging new players from around the area to play for their local club”.
The national coach added: “There is a first class youth structure at the club and we are keen to continue expanding to improve the quality.
“The evening will be good fun as well as an opportunity for boys from the area getting together with a view to next season”.
Colin, who has coached Scotland at every level, will be assisted by the Strathmore Sharks coaching team for these age groups.
