Indoor Sports to host rink championships

Forfar Curling Centre at Forfar Indoor Sports (FIS), Suttieside Road, Forfar are delighted to be hosting the Royal Caledonian Curling Club National Rink Championship Finals.

A total of 24 rinks and around 100 curlers representing every ice rink in Scotland will compete over three days for the title of RCCC Rink Champions 2013.

Competition starts at 9 a.m. on Friday, March 1 reaching a conclusion with the final game at 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 3.

FIS Managing Director Mike Ferguson said: “The sport of curling is going through a rapid period of growth in the build up towards the Sochi Olympics in 2014.

“Players and officials demand competitive standard ice and keen competition both of which we can offer at Forfar. We are looking forward to a weekend of competitive curling on the ice and fun off it.”

Visitors and spectators are most welcome to go along to the curling centre at Suttieside, Forfar and watch one of Scotland fastest growing sports.
