Forfar boys Bruce Mouat and Duncan Menzies helped Scotland to bronze at the recent World Junior Curling Championships in Estonia.
The Forfar Young Curlers duo joined Derrick Sloan, Angus Dowell and Bobby Lammie in Team Scotland for the tournament.
And the Scots finished the tournament in third after they beat Sweden 8-3.
The Swedes had beaten Scotland in the Page third/fourth play-offs as well as beating them in the round robin stage, so it was a big psychological ask for Bruce and his team to overcome their Scandinavian opponents.
Sweden opened with the last stone in this game and blanked the first two ends.
Then in the third end, Swedish skip Fredrik Nyman had a complete miss with a take-out attempt and came up short with his final stone draw, giving Scotland a steal of three points.
The game concluded in the ninth end when Nyman could only remove one Scottish stone, leaving another to count one point for 8-3, at which point the Swedes conceded.
Skip Mouat said: “It feels really good. It wasn’t our best week here but satisfied with the bronze. We’ve got a great team dynamic and the guys played awesome all week so I’m just chuffed.”
Scotland had finished fourth in the round robin stage with six victories and three defeats.
