Strathie’s First XV secured a good home victory in front of a large crowd at Inchmacoble on Saturday with tries from Fraser Cameron and Fraser McKay.

One conversion and five penalties from Stewart Ross secured the points.

Club captain Stuart Gray said: “A much improved performance from Strathmore as they out ran and out played a good student side.”

Strathmore are currently sitting fourth in the Caledonia League 1 just five points behind league leaders Dunfermline and only one point behind third place team Orkney.

Perthshire are currently in second place just four points ahead of Strathie so it’s all a very tight at the top of the league.

Both teams are at home this Saturday the First XV play Caithness who are sitting one place behind Strathie in the league so it’s a big game for the Inchmacoble players.

The Second XV play hosts to the Perthshire seconds in the Caledonia League 4 fixture.

Both games are scheduled for a 3 p.m. kick-off.
