FORFAR Boys U-10s enjoyed mixed fortunes in the sunshine against Arbroath side St Murdochs on Sunday.
In the first match the boys got off to a great start with two goals inside the first ten minutes.
Calum Kelman hit the first then Jack Neave fired home from inside the box to make it two. The visitors pulled one back within 60 seconds.
St Murdochs started the more brighter in the second half and by the half-hour mark were three-two ahead.
Neave came close to equalising before Liam Jones levelled when he drove home with five-minutes left. However, a fine individual goal put St Murdochs back in front and they added a fifth in the final minute.
Forfar controlled the first half of the second game, with Lewis Davison putting the hosts ahead after fine work by Lewis McSherry.
A good save by Jamie Noble kept Forfar ahead and minutes later McSherry and Cameron Fleming combined to set up Davison for his second goal.
Adam Macdairmid made it three on ten minutes after a Fleming corner caused confusion in St Murdochs’ box.
Daniel Forbes scored a great fourth goal to put Forfar in an unassailable position, though St Murdochs did manage to pull one back before half-time.
McSherry scored two inside two minutes early in the second half before Fleming hit the woodwork and Robbie McLauchlan saw his fine effort well saved by the visitors’ keeper.
St Murdochs did manage to score a late consolation.
