THE unsettled spell of recent weeks seems to have abated somewhat to allow the local running fraternity an opportunity to participate in some decent runs.
On Sunday past, Perth Road Runners hosted their annual 10K run over the North Inch in Perth.
Weatherwise, the only factor to contend with was a stiff head-wind on certain parts of the relatively flat course.
Local participants Mark Melnyk (46:28) and Bev Smeaton (personal best in 52:10) flew the Forfar flag.
On Thursday, August 25, David Douglas ran the 5K road race attached to the Cowal Highland Games, completing the run in 25:20.
The club training run this Wednesday (tonight) is from Bellies Brae car park at 6.45 pm, with the Monday night training session on August 29 taking the form of a track session at Forfar Academy from 7 pm.
On Wednesday, September 7, the club stages the latest six-mile handicap race from Sutttieside at 7 pm.
All local runners welcome.
