Swimmers do well at Carnegie meet

Despite the atrocious driving conditions to get there, 13 swimmers from Forfar Amateur Swimming Club (FASC) took part in the Carnegie Spring Meet in Dunfermline recently, cheered on by enthusiastic parent and Cclub helpers, all of whom had braved the storms.

The club came fifth out of all the teams.

Well done Rohan Brown with a gold, a bronze and a too fast award. Erin Brown also achieved a silver medal and a too fast award, the only girl at the gala to receive one, and some great personal bests.

Ellie McCallum took the gold medal in the 100m breaststroke and Calum Kelman took the silver medal in his 100m breaststroke. Beth Milne won bronze in the 100m freestyle and had two other podium places.

Lucy Richardson, Mac Whyte, Cameron Murray and Jack Green all had top six finishes.

Hannah Murray, Chloe Reilly, Kirsty Richardson and Karri Milne all had good swims and some impressive personal best swims. Well done to all swimmers.

Thanks to Mike Milne, Wilma Richardson, Claire Murray and Karen Kelman for their help on poolside and throughout the stay, and Derek Nisbet who acted as a technical official.

Anyone who wishes further information about the club should contact Andy Reid, president, on Forfar 01307 465784 and have a look at the website www.forfarfalcons.com
