Football at all levels suffered as games were called off either due to the weather or damage caused by the extreme conditions.

Amongst those to suffer were Midlands League hopefuls Carnoustie Panmure.

The club was hit with a triple whammy, a power failure, structural damage and a frozen pitch forcing their scheduled game with Brechin Vics to be postponed.

Phile McGuire’s men now turn their attention to the division’s match of the day this Saturday.

Carnoustie travel to Craigie Park on Saturday to take on Midlands League leaders Dundee East Craigie.

Elsewhere, Arbroath Vics were one of the fortunate sides to be able to get out and play.

They made the journey to Coupar Angus and returned home with a convincing 5-2 victory.

This weekend Vics will host Kirriemuir Thistle.

The only other games to be played in the division were Downfield against Letham, with Letham running out 3-0 winners, Dundee East Craigie against Scone Thistle, the home side convincing 9-2 winners and Lochee Harp versus Dundee Violet where Harp won 2-0.

This weekend our sides will be hoping for better luck in getting a game played.

Fixtures: Dundee Downfield v Lochee Harp, Dundee Violet v Dundee NE, Forfar WE v Letham, Scone Thistle v Brechin Vics, Broughty Athletic v Blairgowrie, Tayport v Forfar United, Coupar Angus v Dundee St James.
