LETHAM LADS SECURE A COACH
THE future of a local amateur football side - that has been on the go for over four decades - has been secured.
A couple of weeks ago the "Dispatch" and "Herald" highlighted the fact that Letham Lads Club was in danger of folding unless a new manager could be found.
And, the publicity has paid dividends, with Scott Kerr, a man with experience at senior, junior and amateur levels of the game, agreeing to take over the reins as coach.
"The ex-Brechin City player, who has also played at junior and amateur level, has agreed to take over the coaching side of things for us," explains Marc Gourlay.
"Indeed, the first coaching session has been held ahead of the start of the new season on Saturday, August 14.
"We have also received some financial help from John Conboy Electrical of Letham, so our immediate future is secure."
Letham Lads will play a number of friendly fixtures ahead of the start of the 2010-2011 season, which will begin with the League Cup.
The league action will see the amateur side compete in division two of the Midlands League.
