FORFAR STUDENTS FARE WELL IN TAE KWON DO TOURNAMENT

THREE students from Forfar School of TaeKwon-Do - Daniel Shepherd (2nd Kup), Mike Stewart (4th Kup) and Sophie Donaldson (7th Kup) - made their way to the Kelvin Hall in Glasgow to compete in the TaeKwon-Do Scotland Spring Tournament during the Easter break.

This was an open tournament with close to 200 competitors taking part, and some pretty tough competition.

However the Forfar team performed well, with Sophie taking the gold medal in patterns and a silver medal in her first ever venture into competitive sparring.

Daniel, not to be outdone, took gold in the 13-17 year old red/black belt middle weight sparring.

Mike was unfortunate, after three draws, in narrowly losing out in the senior middle weight sparring division.

Forfar School of TaeKwon-Do train at Strathmore Primary School on Monday and Thursday nights and cater for both senior and junior students.
