Forfar Athletic Chairman Alastair Donald has paid tribute to the outgoing Campbell trio as Ian, Ross and Iain all head for the door at Station Park.
Ian has stepped back from his role as assistant manager to brother Dick while Ross and Iain have left the playing staff, the latter joining Championship side Cowdenbeath.
The chairman said: “It’s very disappointing to lose them to be honest. Cowdenbeath came in for Iain in January but we turned it down because we valued him too much as a player for us. When they came back, it was only fair that a club like Forfar let a player go and test himself at that level. I can tell you having met him last week that it was a really difficult decision for him to leave. Ian has business commitments as I do myself, and when the business comes calling he needs to give it his full attention.
“He leaves the club with our best wishes and I received a wonderful email from him thanking everyone at the club for everything. Ross scored a lot of goals for the club when we got promoted out of the Third Division and he wasn’t always starting but when he played he gave us everything, he loved the club.”
