There were two wins, a loss and a postponement for the Angus clubs this weekend, writes Sarah McLean.

Unfortunately it was Brechin City who suffered the postponement as their game against Stranraer at Glebe Park failed to go ahead due to the weather yet again.

Forfar Athletic took a much needed three points from East Fife as they look to get their league campaign back on track.

The 2-1 win saw a double from Chris Templeman, one in each half, and it was enough to see manager Dick Campbell’s side get a kickstart after a run of disappointing results.

On Saturday, the Loons will welcome Paul Hartley’s Alloa Athletic to Station Park in the hope they can get a good run of results going.

However, there is no denying that this will be a tough encounter.

Arbroath also recorded a win when a first half Colin Hamilton goal against Albion Rovers proved to be enough to see them take three points back to Gayfield.

This Saturday, Arbroath will host Brechin City in what is set to be an interesting encounter.

Apart from friendlies, Ray McKinnon’s Brechin side have not played since January 12 and they will be determined to get back on a good foot.

Despite not seeing league action for so long, Brechin remain third in the Second Division, 10 points behind Alloa Athletic. Arbroath are on equal points with the Brechin side but this Saturday’s visitors have the advantage of three games in hand.

In the Third Division, Montrose had a bit of a nightmare with a 3-1 loss to bottom of the table Stirling Albion.

Despite Stephen McNally giving Mo’ the lead just before the half-hour mark, Stirling Albion netted two goals in the first half and sealed the deal just three minutes from time.

This Saturday, Montrose are looking to get back on form again against Elgin City at Links Park.

Elgin City are currently on equal points with Montrose but are sitting with two games in hand.
