Angus sides bow out of Tayside Cup

TWO Forfar and District Sunday Amateur League sides have bowed out of the Tayside Sunday Amateur Cup.

In third round matches played at the weekend, Abbey Athletic and Millgate Bar were defeated by Harlequins and Whitfield respectively.

There was only the one league game played at the weekend, FC Steg hitting Westport Bar for seven.

Letham Hotel have a healthy lead at the top of the league, with full points from 13 outings to date.

They are well clear of Carnoustie, currently on 24 points, with Finavon a further three points adroft in third spot.

Sunday’s results were as follows:- Tayside Sunday Amateur Cup third round - Abbey Athletic 2, Harlequins 5; Whitfield 6, Millgate Bar 1.

League - Westport Bar 0, FC Steg 7.

This Sunday’s fixtures are as follows:-

Forfar Roof Truss Trophy first round - AFC Plough v AS Tutties (P. Aiken, Lunanhead); Finavon Hotel v Carnoustie All Stars (N. Brand, Lochside); Letham Hotel v Millgate Bar (K. Beats, Letham).

League - Craw’s Nest v FC Porty (M. Harrison, Carlogie Park); FC Steg v Kirrie Thistle Social Club (G. Adams, Victoria Park); Westport Bar v Abbey Athletic (M. Reid, Macdonald Park).

All kick-offs are 11 am.
