ABBEY PROGRESS IN ROOF TRUSS TOURNEY

ABBEY Athletic have clinched their place in the third round of the Forfar and District Sunday Amateur League's Forfar Roof Truss Trophy.

In a second round tie played on Sunday Abbey defeated Kirrie Thistle Social Club.

In the league, Millgate hit Crown for seven and AFC Plough edged past Thrums hotel.

Sunday's results were as follows:-

Forfar Roof Truss Trophy second round - Abbey Athletic 5, Kirrie Thistle Social Club 0.

League - AFC Plough 2, Thrums Hotel 1; Millgate 7, Crown Inn 0.

This Sunday's fixtures are as follows:-

Tayside Sunday Amateur Cup third round - Dundee Social Club v Strathmore (K. Riddell, as arranged); Ferry Inter v Finavon (J. Rice, as arranged); Letham Hotel v Lochee Central (I. Brown, Letham); Sandy's v Craw's Nest (P. Montgomrie, as arranged). Extra time and penalties if required.

League - Abbey Athletic v Crown Inn (D. Shepherd, Victoria Park); AFC Plough v Kirrie Thistle Social Club (I. Cooper, Lunanhead); Dalhousie Hotel v Millgate (A Smith, Carnoustie House); Thrums Hotel v AS Tutties (M Harrison, Martin Park).

Clubs are reminded to telephone the match secretary as soon as possible if games are postponed.
