Things are looking up for local youngster Kyle Clark with a call-up to the Scotland Under-16 squad.
Kyle began playing boys’ football when he joined Lochside FC at the age of seven where he played for the Under-9s.
He then spent a further couple of years with Lochside collecting a number of trophies along the way before beginning training with Dundee Youth FC at the age of 11.
Despite offers from Aberdeen, Kyle stayed with Dundee until he reached the Under-17s, then in July this year he signed for Rangers. As if this move wasn’t good enough for Kyle, he was called up to the Scotland Under-16s squad for their recent friendly against Italy at Raith Rovers’ Starks Park in Kirkcaldy. Despite starting the game on the bench, Kyle did feature in the 3-1 victory.
Former coach Kevin Laird said: “He always gave 110 per cent at training sessions and matches and was very highly thought of by his team mates and coaches.
“I am delighted for him to get this opportunity and I look forward to one day watching him play again for his club and country.”
