FORFAR Road Runners members are enjoying a quiet spell with fewer events on the calendar and the holidays in full swing.
That being the case, the club still had representatives at hugely contrasting events.
Craig Stewart contested the Montane Lakeland 100, an ultra over hilly terain in Coniston, Cumbria. At the time of going to press his race result was not known.
Nearer to home Bev Smeaton continues to be busy with an outing to the Ballater 10-mile, returning a 98-10 on a humid, warm morning.
This Wednesday (tonight), the club host the fourth in the six-mile handicap series over the Suttieside circuit, starting at 7pm.
In Tuesday, August 9 the club stages the annual duathlon, a four-mile run and a 12-mile cycle.
The race (free entry) is open to all locals starting at the substation between Whitehills and Lunanhead at 7pm.
Other events on the calendar in August include the Aboyne Hill Race on August 6, Ballater Hill Race on August 11, Dyce half-marathon on August 14, Ceres Road race on August 16, Glenisla Hill Race on August 19 and the Forfar 10km on August 21.
