Forfar Athletics’ development side’s winning run has come to an end.
The side had a winning run which stretched to eight games in the SPFL Development League East, but it came to an end at Central Park on Tuesday night when they lost 2-1 to Cowdenbeath.
In a post on the club’s Facebook page, it said the side could have “little complaint” at the result following “a lack lustre performance in a match which for the greater part was devoid of any quality”.
The post continued: “Declan Byrne gave the home side the lead on the stroke of half-time, Kyle Mitchell adding a second with seven minutes of the match remaining.
“Trialist Adam Braid scored what turned out to be a consolation counter for the visitors in the dying embers of the contest.”
The development squad are next in action on Tuesday evening (April 5), when they welcome Alloa Athletic to Station Park. The match kicks off at 8pm, and admission to the Development League fixtures is free.
