FARMINGTON’S SWPL side have made their first signings of 2013, with the return of Holly Napier and Nivana Crighton.
The locally based pair re-join the club from Celtic, having moved south in the opening months of the 2010 season. Striker Napier, a Scotland youth international, started her career with the highly successfully Arbroath Inchcape side where she was a prolific goal scorer alongside new teammate Abbi Grant.
Speaking on her return to Farmington, Holly said: “Having had a couple of training sessions, I’ve now met most of the girls and I really can’t wait for the season to start.
“The standard is really high and there will be real competition for places. Hopefully that will help us equal, and maybe improve on last season’s performance”.
Wide player Crighton follows a number of the squad’s longest serving players, having come up through the club’s youth structure.
A spell at Celtic saw Nivana gain youth international recognition and feature for the Glasgow club in the SWPL.
She said: “I’m really happy to be back at Forfar. The training and facilities here are fantastic and I’m really excited about the coming season which will hopefully be another successful one for the team”.
Head coach Mark Nisbet is delighted to have both players back at the club.
He commented: “They have developed during their spell at Celtic, and return to us with valuable experience of SWPL football.
“I’m excited to be working with them and looking forward to helping them both develop further as players.”
