Each of the Angus clubs were in action during Monday’s exhilirating Transfer Deadline Day.

Arbroath, Brechin City, Forfar Athletic and Montrose all made additions to their squads as they go into the business end of the season.

City and the Loons are targeting League One survival while their coastal cohorts have the League Two promotion play-offs in their sights.

The Lichties rounded off a great month of recruitment with the addition of Jamie Henry on loan from Aberdeen: the 18-year-old plays in midfield or at right-back.

Jamie joins Shaun Rutherford, a left-sided defender from St Johnstone, and Josh Skelly the Dundee striker at Gayfield.

Montrose were equally busy in the first month of 2016, adding the deadline day loan signing of Falkirk keeper Alex Tokarczyk to a squad already boosted by the acquisitions of striker Chris Templeman (released by Forfar Athletic), midfielder Jamie Clarke (released by Arbroath) and defender Neil Martynuik (on loan from St Johnstone).

Lewis Spence and Nathan Shepherd had already arrived on loan at Glebe Park and Darren Dods secured the loan of Lukas Culjak from Aberdeen.

The 19-year-old centre half can count Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich as his former clubs at youth level.

It’s been a tumultuous start to Gary Bollan’s tenure at Station Park with the departures of Rab Douglas and Kevin Nicoll added to Templeman’s move to the Gable Endies.

But the former Airdrieonians boss was quick to bolster his defence on deadline day, securing the loan of Dundee United starlet Euan Spark as well as agreeing a deal with ex-St Johnstone centre back Gareth Rodger until the end of the season.

The duo join ex-Hamilton Accies striker Andy Ryan as Bollan tries to keep the Loons up.
