Forfar Athletic have risen to fifth in the SPFL League One table after a 2-0 win over Brechin City on Saturday at Station Park.

The three points were also enough to see them leapfrog their Angus counterparts Brechin City and Arbroath for the first time this season.

Loons boss Dick Campbell said: “I think there is a lot that can be taken out of the game, we were very effective.

“We won comfortably.

“It looks like we are up and running now and starting to look very competitive.”

Looking ahead to the next two weeks, Campbell added: “I think the break has come at a good time, it gives us a chance to get over some niggling injuries .

“Now we have a lot of exciting games coming up.”
