FORFAR Athletic pulled off an excellent come back to draw 3-3 with Stenhousemuir on Saturday, writes Sarah McLean.
The point was enough to keep them in the top four in the Second Division.
Forfar are now on equal points with Arbroath, who also took a point on Saturday after drawing 1-1 with Queen of the South, but the Loons do have a game in hand.
Boss Dick Campbell said: “I’m very disappointed that we didn’t win.
“I think anyone who was at the game could see that we were on top for most of it.
“But we have no problems, I think we played very well and showed some wonderful stuff.
“It was as good as point for us as it was for them.”
This Saturday, Forfar Athletic will travel to Coatbridge to face Albion Rovers for the fourth time this season.
So far the Loons have had a fantastic record against them recording three strong wins.
The teams first met at Station Park in September with the home side taking a 4-2 win.
In that game Ross Campbell took a hat-trick while Chris Templeman sealed the deal with a penalty just after the hour mark.
In December, the Loons travelled to Cliftonhill and returned with three points from a 3-2 win.
Loanee James Craigen scored in the first minute then again in the 24th minute. Barry Sellars netted the winner two minutes into added time after the 2-2 scoreline remained throughout the second half.
Their most recent meeting was back in February, again at Station Park, when the home side repeated their 4-2 scoreline.
Goals came from Danny Denholm, Martyn Fotheringham, Dale Hilson and Gavin Malin.
Looking towards Saturday afternoon Campbell added: “It’s a terrible place to go but we are really up for the game and I’m very much looking forward to it.”
Campbell has most of his squad to choose from. However, Michael Bolochoweckyj serves his second game of a two match suspension.
Odmar Faeroe will be with the Faroese squad in Vienna for their World Cup tie.
However, Ross Campbell should return to squad after illness ruled him out against Stenhousemuir.Sell-out dinner!
FORFAR Athletic’s 18th Annual Sportsmans Dinner, due to be held in the Reid Hall on Friday May 17, is once again a sell out.
