Forfar Athletic brought their pre-season campaign to a close on Saturday with a 2-2 draw with Berwick Rangers.

Goals came from new signing Stuart Malcolm and trialist and familiar face at Station Park, Bryan Deasley.

Speaking after the game manager Dick Campbell said: “These games are about fitness. It was a sunny day and the weather endorses the fitness levels.

“I don’t think we played particularly well but there were a lot of changes. Actually, unbelievably, we’ve got a couple of injuries.

“But we’ve got a lot of things to work on.

“I’ve signed Neil McCabe and I’ve got to make a decision about Mushin and Dale.

“But all the focus is on the East Fife game on Saturday.

“I’ve got three players missing for it and I’ve got to allow for that.

“So we will see what is in front of us.”

The Ramsdens Cup first round game kicks off the Loons season at 3 p.m. this Saturday (July 27).
