FORFAR Athletic manager Dick Campbell faces tough times as he tries to put together a team capable of defeating Albion Rovers on Saturday.
His selection woes come after two of his players saw red during Saturday’s derby clash at Gayfield.
Goalscorer Michael Bolochoweckyj has a two-match suspension after his first half dismissal, while Stephen Tulloch is also looking at a one-match ban.
Campbell said: “For the first 37 or 38 minutes I was standing watching the team play really well. They were magnificent. Then we had a player sent off for a foul and I think the referee was the only person there who saw it and it got silly for the next 10 minutes.
“But for most of the first half our ‘keeper didn’t have a save to make.
“For the first 35 minutes we were totally in charge of the game and we totally outplayed them. You would have thought we were the home side.
“We got a good goal and could have been two or three ahead.”
With Forfar still in the lead at the break Campbell was unimpressed with the equaliser. He said: “We gave away a soft, soft penalty and then got another player sent off.
“I’m disappointed, not with the 1-1 draw but because we threw it away because of our indiscipline.”
Campbell also added that he felt the referee had been inconsistent with his decision over the course of the game. However, the Forfar gaffer also felt that some positives could be taken. He said: “We ended up playing with just eight outfield players away from home and still managed to get a draw. That just shows the quality of the squad we have and for that I am very happy.
“What a passion we showed with just nine men.”
Meanwhile, Iain Campbell is a major doubt for this weekend’s home tie against Albion Rovers.
Boss Campbell is now looking towards bringing in one or two emergency transfers to bolster his squad in the short term.
Although Campbell had made no moves at the time of going to press he had hopes of bringing some in soon to boost the squad of just 13 or 14 he has due to suspensions and injuries.
Looking ahead, Forfar Athletic are preparing to face Albion Rovers at Station Park on Saturday.
Campbell added: “I will make sure everyone in the squad is motivated to face Albion on Saturday.”
