Forfar Athletic boss Dick Campbell admitted his side were fortunate to take three points from Saturday’s game with Stirling Albion.
The top-vs-bottom clash didn’t play out to that billing and Stuart McLaren was rightly disappointed to see his Binos side take nothing from the fixture.
Campbell gave Stirling full credit for their performance, but admitted he was thrilled to collect the victory - especially with Dunfermline and Morton dropping points.
The Loons gaffer said: “We give Stirling Albion a lot of credit, their manager’s come in there and got them well drilled.
“I thought we were fortunate.
“I don’t think we played particularly well, but I’ve been in that position plenty times before when we’ve played well and got nothing.
“We’ll take the three points, especially in light of what’s happened around us with Morton and Dunfermline dropping points.”
Stirling boss McLaren said: “We performed well, I hate hard luck stories but unfortunately we’ve had a couple of them - we had another.
“The better team lost. Where we are, we need to pick up points to get us out of this predicament.
“But I’ve told the boys again, if we continue to perform as we have been then we will get the points we need.”
