A local company has stepped in to make sure members of Forfar Boys Football Club look the part when they compete in a national football tournament in Blackpool this weekend.
Brian Gowans of Veolia Water met up with Forfar Boys under 13s team on Sunday to present the players and management team with new tracksuits as they prepare to represent the north east of Scotland in the Blackpool Cup Football Tournament.
The team, led by manager Jim Douglas, will compete against teams from the west coast of Scotland, England and Ireland.
Jim explained: “The boys will be playing six to eight games of football over Saturday and Sunday, playing every other team once with the top two teams going forward to compete in the final.
“We will be travelling as a party of 40 people - 14 players with the rest of the party taken up by parents, brothers, sisters, grans and grand-dads.
“On behalf of everyone associated with our team I would like to express our sincere thanks to our main sponsor, Veolia Water, for their magnificent backing in providing our team and coaching staff with a new set of track-suits for our trip.
“I also thank Bryce and his team at Direct Soccer for pulling out all the stops to ensure all our sports wear and equipment was ordered, printed and delivered to us in record time to ensure our boys look their best.
“A final thank-you goes to Wisharts Coaches of Friockheim, who will be transporting us to Blackpool and to and from the tournament over the weekend.”
