Manager Dick Campbell admitted he'll hold an inquest into what's causing the malaise currently permeating Forfar Athletic on the park.

Saturday's 1-0 loss to Brechin City makes it just a single win in their last nine games, and for a team of this quality that record is just unfathomable.

But Campbell said he's the main to work out what's going wrong with the team - and fix it.

Dick said: "I’m disappointed with the two sendings off and I’m equally disappointed by the performance.

"The buck stops with me so let’s have a look at the whole situation over the weekend, but I’m certainly not happy with that - I never have been.

"At the end of the day there’s something wrong here, we need to fix it and I’m the guy that can fix it.

"We’ll look at the whole situation over the next 24 hours."

Campbell praised Forfar's opponents for their deserved victory while admitting he didn't feel his charges were good enough to warrant the three points.

He added: "Our quality was lacking. It’s a bad goal to lose and we’re down to 10 men.

"Congratulations to Brechin, I thought they deserved to win the game.

"I don’t think we played well enough to win the game. I didn’t see the sending offs."

Dick also admitted his frustrations with the game's officiating, pointing to some inconsistencies in bookings handed out to players.

The gaffer said: "I thought the referee was poor but I’m not going to complain about that.

"There were a couple of bookings they got away with.

"Derek’s sent off for a second booking and then there’s three fouls on my players in the second half that are worthy of red cards, which we didn’t get awarded.

"Brechin ran the clock down, they took a minute or two on every single set piece.

"That’s what I’d do, I’ve no complaints on that.

"They’re in a dire position down there in the bottom echelons now as we are. It’s a long season."
